Mike Bell, an Ancaster native, is married and has 2 children. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and currently works as a project manager for Tube-Mac Piping Technologies. Bell has a history of civic leadership and ran for Public School Board Trustee in 2014 receiving 25% of the vote in a 3 way race. His campaign for Ward 12 councillor will consist mostly of walking the neighbourhoods of Ancaster and knocking on doors to introduce himself and to inquire what changes the residents would like to see in their own community. If elected, Mike Bell will push for more responsible development in Ancaster. Pedestrian friendly infrastructure will help preserve wealth and create an attractive community. He also advocates for a sustainable model of public transit in the City of Hamilton. Transit must shift from a geographic model to a ridership model. Bell is a member of the Hamilton-Burlington chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario, where he currently volunteers on the board as an executive. Bell is an active volunteer with Fessenden’s Home & School Association and was the Treasurer for two years.
